Customers can save their music with the service in the cloud and listen anytime, anywhere with Android smartphones and tablets, the Kindle Fire (HD), iPhone and iPod touch, and PC and Mac. You can start the Amazon Cloud Player under the URL www.amazon.de/cloudplayer-start.
Music files on your own machine are imported using Amazon's "Scan and Match" technology. This scans the music libraries of iTunes and Windows Media Player and matches them with the more than 20 million titles in Amazon's MP3 catalog. Then the Cloud Player saves them at a bit rate of 256 kilobits per second. Scan and Match supports MP3, AAC, WMA (Windows only), OGG, WAV, Apple Lossless (Mac only), AIFF and FLAC.
At Amazon (also in the past) purchased MP3 files saved the Cloud Player automatically. Users get a free backup copy of their MP3 tracks. Unfortunately, music bought on CD or DVD is not considered.
The Amazon Cloud Player is available as a free and premium version. Customers can save MP3 songs purchased from Amazon and upload a maximum of 250 songs from their PC or Mac. The premium version for just under 25 euros a year offers storage space for up to 250, 000 songs available. The songs purchased at Amazon are not calculated in both variants.
