Microsoft Germany: Shelley McKinley is Head of Law and Government Affairs


On September 17, Shelley McKinley becomes a member of the Executive Committee, and is responsible for Legal and Government Affairs as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as General Counsel, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs.

McKinley succeeds, according to a statement, the succession of Severin Löffler, who held the position since 2008. Löffler is promoted to Assistant General Counsel, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs for Central and Eastern Europe.

Shelley McKinley has been with Microsoft since 2005 and has spent the past six years performing various roles in the Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB), most recently as Head of the Legal Team for IEB Hardware Design, Third Party Games and Company Acquisitions. She has also worked on legal aspects of hardware production including Xbox, PC hardware and Surface.

Prior to joining Microsoft, the Texan worked for Hasbro and a law firm in Seattle. McKinley has close ties to Europe, where she studied in Vienna and Tübingen. In 1997 she began her career as a lawyer at CMS Hasche Sigle in Stuttgart with a focus on mergers & acquisitions.
