The variant of the Trojan Sasfis has also struck in companies and research facilities, said the Center for Computer Security (NCSC) of the Dutch Ministry of Justice on Thursday in The Hague. The center investigates the incidents. So far 22 cases have become known. The affected municipalities include Venlo, Den Bosch, Almere and Tilburg.
According to the state security center, the malicious software has spread since Tuesday through documents that were created with Microsoft Office. Anti-virus programs and scanners have now updated their software, said a security center spokesman. The malware, however, must still be removed from already infected computers. (Dpa / tc)spoods.de
